Suavecita hair products review…for us ladies

Suavecita Pomade hairstyling product for women

Pomades fill 2 different voids in my hairstyling life. One is to tame flyways and add shine and depth to loose curls. The other is to add weight and stamina to hair I need to make defy gravity like pompadours and victory rolls. Suavecito, Inc. sent me a couple of their newest hair products to test and they both fill those spots wonderfully.

Google translates suavecita (and suavecito for that matter) as mild, not strong or harsh in degree or intensity; soft; sweet; genial. That is a very good description of these products. The scents are soft and so is the feeling of it.

Suavecita Pomade, water-soluble and non-greasy, is their women’s pomade. There is no scent listed on the package, but to me it smells like a hair product version of sweet watermelon Jolly Ranchers. Yummy. The pomade doesn’t leave my hands greasy or sticky while I use it. There doesn’t seem to be any residue on my fingers at all after.

It is a medium/strong hold. If you aren’t very familiar with pomade strengths and how to judge what you need, just consider the coarseness of your hair vs. the hold factor you need. If you have fine hair and only need a little fly-away control, you would use a light pomade. If you have very coarse hair and want a lot of hold for victory rolls, use a heavy pomade.

This pomade is a heavier hold. It provides a lot of control and I would recommend it for styling up-shapes and dry pin-curls that really need to stay in place.

The other product is the Suavecita Argan Silkening Serum. I love this product as well. It provides a tremendous amount of shine, definition and fluidity to loose curls without making the hair greasy and heavy.

I couldn’t quite place the scent. I thought it was almost like a strawberry scent. When I asked my sales manager, she described it as something from her childhood, like a baby doll. I have to agree with her. It is almost the scent of when you first open a Strawberry Shortcake doll. Regardless, it’s girlie and soft, which is a big thing for me.

Both products are available on their website for $11.99 or you can email them at info@suavecitopomade.com to find a shop in your area that carries the line.
