Need a little happy? Need a little mid-week pick-me-up? Watch this

I just spent a very long day serving jury duty, which culminated in the non-conviction of an obvious domestic abuser because we couldn’t agree. But I won’t bore you with the details. I already did that to my beau for an hour.

But I needed a little pick-me-up and this always picks me up. If you haven’t seen this before, I apologize. I couldn’t find a high quality version anywhere online. It is a montage of movies called “100 Years at the Movies,” put together by TCM and they use it in between movies on the tv channel when they need to fill some airtime. It makes my heart sing every time I watch it and so I wanted to share it with all of you, since we are all lovers of earlier movies.

The reason I thought of it is because I just got my “Moguls and Movie Stars” dvds from Turner Classic Movies a day ago and have been enthralled. It is such a wonderful series of documentaries on the beginnings of the movie industry starting in the late 1800’s and goes on through the 1960s. It is amazing. The series came out last year and TCM finally put it on dvd.

But, for now, sit back and enjoy this quick 10 minutes of movies we love. Be sure to push the pause button at the bottom of the blog on the radio player so you can clearly hear the video. The sound is the best part.

Wonderful video…I cried like a baby when they played the Gone With the Wind music and Casablanca came up. It’s amazing how movies can move us like they do…
