1960s eye makeup and nails like a weapon

late-1950s-1960s-makeup

This is a great photo of Nancy Walters. She was an actress in the late 1950s and early 1960s. I love her eye makeup in this and the jeweled headpiece on the front of her beehive bouffant.

But those nails! Those nails remind me of this woman I gave a manicure to in beauty school. Her nails must have been over an inch long, were natural, and she wanted them filed into a rounded point. She came in to get her polish taken off and a clear coat. It turns out she was going camping that weekend for the first time with her grown son. I joked with her that she would fine. No need to worry about the bears because with those claws she had she’d be able to climb any tree to escape. 😉

  1. Whenever I have new tips put on and they’re that long I can’t even dress myself! Also, not really compatible with contact lenses.
